GDPR is an acronym for General Data Protection Regulation. This new data protection policy came into effect on 25th May 2018. It is applicable to all companies selling products/services via websites in EU and other non-European countries and are extracting and storing personal information of customers. GDPR empowers you to have more control over your personal identifiable data such as your email id, name, photo bank details etc. Furthermore, it’s also restricts the sensitive data from misuse and disclosure to any third part without the consent of user. This new data protection policy puts the customer in driver’s seat and the task of abiding this new regulation completely rests with the organization/company.
